This CD is an updated and abridged version of the Emigranten 2-CD set published in 2001 (English version entitled The Swedish Emigrant). The new CD omits the photos and the video found in the former version, as well as the microfilmed records from Swedish-American church archives. Two new databases have been added to the collection, the correspondence from the Swedish emigrant agent, Larsson Brothers & Co., and Emibas Värmland, emigration records extracted from church records in Värmland. In the new version, all databases are consolidated into one CD supported by a common search function. Records span the period from the 1800's through to 1950.


Below is a list of the included databases:

  • Emiham--records for 1.4 million emigrants taken from police records at port of exit (Göteborg, Malmö, Stockholm, Norrköping, Helsingborg, & Kalmar)
  • Emibas Göteborg--emigration data extracted from church books, city of Göteborg 37,000 records
  • Emibas Värmland--emigration data extracted from church books, Värmland
  • Emisjö--seaman from Western Sweden who were recorded as disembarked, fugitive, or dead in a port outside of Europe. 20,000 records 1812-1930.
  • Emipass--extracted from exit permits 1783-1860
  • Emisal--passengers on the Swedish-American line 1915-1950
  • Emivasa--member records from the VASA order in the United States
  • Emilarsson--correspondence of the Swedish emigration agent, Larsson Brothers & Co.
The CD is only available in the Swedish language.

System requirements are Windows 95 or higher and 1.3 GB of hard disk space.
